An absolute jewel! Stunning, rich velvet red petals surround dark red anthers. This free flowering beauty produces 4-5” blooms starting in late summer, and again in fall if you follow our preferred pruning method. Compact & bushy, Westerplatte is a perfect choice for containers or smaller gardens.
Size: 8-9'
Bloom Time: June & September.
Exposure: Sun to part shade.
Pruning: 1st year in late January/early February, cut to 6” from ground level. Then cut by half after first flush of blooms is finished. Second year & beyond; late winter cut is to 18” from ground level. Feed after each pruning session with a well-balanced fertilizer.
