Clematis 'Warsaw Nike'

Massive (up to 7" across!), burgundy purple, velvety single flowers with a striking golden eye bloom prolifically (and repeatedly) all across the deep green foliage. One of the most popular Clematis varieties and a winner of the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society, just looking at the stunning flowers can show anyone why people go crazy over this powerhouse! Hardy, low maintenance, and easy to grow, moderately fast growing and tall enough to clamber up any fence, this luxuriant bloomer is a star growing over arbors, up trellises, along fences, and anywhere it can get shady feet and something to climb.
Bloom Time: Late spring to early summer, again in late summer to early fall.
Exposure: Afternoon shade.
Size: 6-10' Tall Water: Regular

Pruning: In late January/early February, cut to 6-8” from ground level to a pair of buds. Then cut by half after the first flush of blooms is finished. Feed after each pruning session with well-balanced fertilizer.
