Clematis 'Daniel Deronda'
A stunning lavender-blue, large flowering clematis, with each petal striped with a paler bar, and all centered in a beautiful cluster of creamy yellow filaments. This beauty starts out the season with semi-double ruffled blooms, finishing up later with singles. A gorgeous older variety, tried and true! The flowers cover this vigorous climber for 6 weeks or more in summer and again in fall with the correct pruning method (see below). A very generous bloomer, a perfect cut flower and ideal for any arbor or trellis. Bloom Time: June brings first flush of blooms. Exposure: Full sun to part shade. Water: Regular Soil: Well-amended, good drainage. Size: 8-10' Tall Pruning: Prune back hard in winter - to 18”. After first blooming session is over, cut back by half and feed , using a well balanced fertilizer.
