Clematis 'Boulevard Samaritan Joe'

Early blooming, large flowering, and ethereally beautiful. Stately, structural flowers with pointed petals in tones of icy white, edged with deep purple, taper to a center of deep purple anthers tipped with pale green. Tons of these stunning blooms cover the compact, vigorous foliage over a long bloom period, with little maintenance required. The compact habit makes this a favorite choice for containers, patios, planter boxes, and even hanging baskets, but it will do just as well in a shady landscape too!
Bloom Time: Late spring to early fall.
Exposure: Afternoon shade.
Size: 4-5' Tall Water: Regular

Pruning: In late January/early February, cut to 6-8” from ground level to a pair of buds. Then cut by half after the first flush of blooms is finished. Feed after each pruning session with well-balanced fertilizer.
